MICROBLADING AFTERCARE

  • For the first week of healing, your brows will appear darker and thicker than you desire. This is part of the process and only temporary!

  • During the first 14 days you should avoid prolonged direct sunlight, makeup on or near the brow area, and getting your brows wet (ie sweating, swimming, letting the shower run directly on your face). For face washing carefully use a damp face cloth or makeup remover wipes, avoiding the brow area.

  • Your brows will feel dry and itchy during the first week of healing. It is very important to not scratch or pick at the scabs. Early removal of scabs can result in scarring and pigment loss.

  • Apply a very thin layer of a gentle unscented moisturizer twice daily if your skin type is dry, once daily if your skin type is oily. Continue use of moisturizer until your brows have fully flaked off. Do not use Vaseline or Polysporin.

  • To wash your healing brows, gently dab them with a damp paper towel or cotton pad (no soap needed), then gently dab dry with a dry paper towel or cotton pad. Do this every 4 to 6 hours throughout the day until the brows have finished flaking off. This step will clean off the natural oils produced by the skin in order for your brow pigment to settle in as crisply as possible.

  • Try your best to sleep on your back until your brows have fully flaked off.

  • Immediately after your brows have finished flaking they will appear faded because there is still a layer of healing skin over them. They will slowly brighten up again over the next few weeks.

  • Though your brows will seem fully healed after approximately two weeks, there is still deeper healing taking place so we must wait a minimum of 6 weeks for the touch up appointment.

  • The complimentary touch up appointment must take place between 6 and 10 weeks after your initial visit.

LONG TERM AFTERCARE

  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure and make sure to use sunscreen on your healed brows.

  • If you get any laser treatments on your face, inform your technician that you have microblading.

  • If you use vitamin A, retinol, glycolic acid or any exfoliating products, avoid applying directly on your brows.

  • To maintain your microbladed brows long term it is recommended to book a refresh appointment every        1-2 years.
